I've compiled a bunch of rather random, but hopefully useful information on each of the nations. Most of the information comes from avatar.wikia.com, which is possibly the best site in the world if you want to know anything at all about Avatar: The Last Airbender. Then there's the 'since the war' sections, which is stuff I randomly made up for the storyline, so don't expect to find that anywhere, lol. Anyway, here's what I have. I may add on to it occasionally when I find new stuff.
country
* located on planet's equator
* country composed of string of tropical volcanic islands, many still active
* climate is warm and humid
*second largest nation both in land and population
government & economy
* absolute monarchy, led by Fire Lord
* religious authority: Great Sage & Council of Fire Sages

* four temples located at the top of mountains at each corner of the globe (one in the northern Earth Kingdom and three on remote islands)
* Northern and Southern temples once housed only male Airbenders; Eastern and Western temples once housed only female Airbenders
